MAJOR DUTIES AND RESONSI-BILITIES


Collaborate with partners and stakeholder, such as Manufacturing, F&E, MS&T, Supply Chain and Quality to identify, scope, plan and execute digital plant projects
Provides ownership and accountability for Knowledge Management, Incident Management, and Request Management within vitalize
Provides strategic leadership and ownership of the Digital Plant training program for on-boarding of new Automation Engineers
Provide Troubleshooting support and guidance of Digital Plant systems in support of manufacturing
Act as an Investigation SME for manufacturing and quality deviations involving Digital Plant Systems
Participate as front-line support representative at Manufacturing Tier II huddles.
Owns Front Line Support / Automation huddles
Responsible for development, maintenance and sustainability of a robust Digital Plant Knowledge Based Article (KBA) library
Oversee a team of Front Line Support Engineers providing 24/7 coverage
Drive robust training of digital solutions with operations staff as well as automation and digital manufacturing colleagues to ensure understanding of software program functionality
Lead projects in support of site digitization and automation efforts
Partner with cross functional teams across the site to understand requirements, evaluate appropriate level of electronic documentation, and deliver solutions
Partner with site stakeholders to drive continuous improvement efforts in the areas of safety, right first time, and operational efficiency. Identify areas of focus and prioritization and drive CI efforts from concept to completion
Communicate clearly to site stakeholders in the area of front line support issues, resolution, and status.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL


Strong attention to safety a must
Proven leadership skills and track record of success in managing technical projects and teams in a matrix environment
Excellent project management skills
Excellent verbal communication, documentation and technical writing skills
Familiarity of regulatory issues pertaining to digital assets (Data Integrity, 21CFR Part 11 Compliance)
Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
Strong technical problem-solving abilities, written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated success of leading effectively in a complex matrix project team environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills in coaching, managing and mentoring new staff members
Demonstrated proficiency in selection of team and effectively managing personnel issues
Knowledge of process automation systems, including Allen Bradley PLCs and DeltaV DCS
Knowledge of Windows Operating System
Knowledge of virtualization, SANs, and virtualization clustering.
Ability to work in a diverse work environment, manage multiple priorities, and at times, be self-directed

Work both independently and in a team environment at all levels of the organization, in particular Manufacturing, Quality, and Digital Plant.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work within all Site Facilities, which requires one to give a high attention to detail and on occasion to properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position provides direct leadership to the team of front line support (FLS) engineers. The FLS engineers provide 24/7 plant coverage in a rotating shift basis. Incumbent will be required to provide leadership to the second shift engineers during non-business hours.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Incumbent typically manages a complete function or process, either through staff, the coordination of a team, or individual efforts. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work is measured based on meeting established objectives and schedules. Identifies and resolves any discrepancies from normal practices or procedures to cross-functional team, recommending and implementing corrective actions. Only critical discrepancies are reported to management. This position reports to the Syracuse Site IT Business Partner - Site IT lead.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

This position provides leadership and direct management to the front line support team of engineers. Position reports to IT Business Partner - Syracuse Site IT lead.
