An established and highly respected intellectual property firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate to join its patent practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies for sophisticated clients and collaborate with experienced intellectual property attorneys on complex patent matters.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, along with Japanese language skills and meaningful patent prosecution experience. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and legal experience to help clients protect and develop valuable intellectual property and to serve as a trusted advisor on sophisticated patent matters.

Who You Are

• You have a strong educational and technical background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.


• You have strong English and Japanese language skills.


• You have 2+ years of patent prosecution experience.


• You are registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.


• You are an active member of a state bar and current with applicable CLE requirements.


• You have excellent writing and communication skills, along with strong academic credentials.


• You possess exceptional analytical skills and enjoy working through complex and detailed legal and technical issues.


• You are comfortable communicating with a diverse range of clients, attorneys, and professional staff.


• You work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and value strong working relationships.

Salary: $235,000–$310,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Compensation will be adjusted accordingly for flex-time schedules.
