Legal Counsel - Regulatory and Compliance
The candidate will help identify and drive regulatory compliance and global compliance projects impacting Firm’s global business from a strategic, tactical, and operational perspective and collaborate to set strategy on same. Will understand, manage and drive compliance with a number of firm’s internal policies. Provide as needed, general, legal support across the spectrum of issues firm’s faces, including commercial, disputes, etc. Coordinate with local offices to ensure a consistent approach, policies and decision-making across the organization. Take responsibility for training and continued development of knowledge and skills across both the global legal team and the business around compliance and regulatory issues. Identify risks and issues. Suggest alternative solutions and efficiencies. Act as bridge and point of contact between functions and business for resolving legal issues. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Analysis and creative problem solving, with an appreciation for striking a practical balance between business and legal objectives. Quickly and comfortably and with flexibility dealing with a diverse international set of clients and advisors. Quickly comprehend complex sets of international laws and regulations and interpret those laws within the context of firm’s global policies. Deploying and driving large scale legal change efforts, ensuring on-going awareness and compliance. Influencing stakeholders and acting as a change agent in an ever-evolving environment. Having a positive, dynamic, client-focused approach to legal practice. Producing results in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, client-oriented environment. Building relationships throughout a loosely structured organization.
