SUMMARY The ILTexas Multimedia Journalist is responsible for finding, creating, and sharing the many incredible stories our students and staff have. The ILTexas MMJ will create content and stories across multiple mediums – video, still photography, social media, website, and print – for multiple audiences – prospective and current students, parents, and staff, government decision makers, international stakeholders. This individual is a crucial member of our media team, and will also support high profile charter events, like our Leadership Speaker Series, International Festivals, and VIP guest visits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Find, create and share written and video stories with internal and external stake holders 2. Write and distribute press releases 3. Support media team with events – Shooting video and stills, event set up, event teardown, post event editing. 4. Write blog posts, scripts, and other copy needed for storytelling across mediums 5. Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Photography, Communications or other related fields 2. Must be able to create high-quality written, video, and print content 3. Must be experienced with editing and graphic design programs -Specifically Adobe products 4. Must be comfortable with a wide variety of photo/video technologies 5. Must be comfortable speaking with individuals of all ages and backgrounds 6. Must be able to travel to various campus across the state of Texas multiple times a month 7. Must be able to lift heavy items including large cameras, equipment boxes, chairs, tables, stage pieces, etc. Physical labor is involved 8. Candidates must submit a demo reel and/or portfolio of work PREFERENCES - Bilingual, English/Spanish is preferred
