Bering Straits Aki/LB&B JV (BSA/LB&B) is seeking a Pest Controller at Ft McCoy, WI.
SUMMARY
The Pest Controller sprays chemical solutions or toxic gases and sets mechanical traps to kill pests that infest buildings and surrounding areas, fumigates rooms and buildings using toxic gases, sprays chemical solutions or dusts powders in rooms and work areas, places poisonous paste or bait and mechanical traps where pests are present; may clean areas that harbor pests, using rakes, brooms, shovels, and mops preparatory to fumigating; and may be required to hold State license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply herbicide.
Operate small to medium sized equipment.
Mix chemicals properly according to container labels.
Create, track, and submit proper reports.
Use of live traps and proper procedure of handling animals that have been captured.
Proper identification of animals on whether they can be removed or relocated.

Job Requirements :
Required:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver’s license, proof of insurance and acceptable driving record.
Reliable transportation to/from work.
State of WI certified 2.0 Forestry, 3.0 Turf & Landscape, 5.0 Aquatic Pest Control, 6.0 Right-of-Way, 7.1 Structural/Public Health Pest Control, and 7.2 Space & Commodity Fumigation.
Knowledge of using Integrated Pest Management control methods by locating, recognizing, and exterminating a wide variety of pests.
Knowledge of habits and physical characteristics of the various types of pests to be destroyed.
Familiar with the use of pesticides and their effects upon the environment, vegetation, and other species.
Thorough knowledge of hazardous material handling and related safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to read, speak, and communicate well in English.
Ability to communicate well with others.
Computer and data entry skills.
Skilled in selecting the appropriate control method and if pesticides are used, the appropriate types and strength levels for exterminating specific types of pests.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions with high temperatures above 100 ( 100) degrees Fahrenheit and below 20 (-20) degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment can punctuate with the sounds of heavy machinery/equipment.
