Our DIRECT client is seeking a
Basis Engineer Lead
for a DIRECT-HIRE position who will act in a lead capacity providing BASIS application admin support to the Process Teams including on-going maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning and upgrade management. The individual will work with a global team with staff augmentation resources as well as internal team members. The individual will have the opportunity to help manage the day to day activities from a support and maintenance perspective. The individual will ensure that the production environment running SAP applications are stable. He/she will design, develop, test and debug, and implement complex SAP operating components, software tools, and utilities required for the operation, maintenance, and control of the current and future Global SAP computer systems. Extensive experience in managing technical projects, and collaboration with clients and other service providers is essential.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
Breadth of IT experience - 10 years
7 years working in a SAP Basis position managing most the following: NetWeaver 7.0, ECC, BW, SCM, Live Cache, Enterprise Portal, CRM, PLM, Portal, Solution Manager, and Business Object.
Knowledgeable in DB2, UNIX, Linux, MS Windows Server.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, result-driven, and adaptable.
Experience leading technical projects and project resources.
Experience supporting mission critical systems.
ABAP programming & scripting experience – a plus.
Proven leadership skills
Past team lead role
Project management skills
Mentoring skills for advising people on their project load.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Continuously research to understand new technology trends including current SAP technologies and be able to communicate clearly the business impact and benefits to the organization.
Project planning and assisting others in ensuring they are using the proper techniques when scheduling their support work/projects.
Key role with Integration & Release & change management planning to ensure alignment of all teams with initiatives.
Lead and participate in SAP technical improvement projects implementing new processes, technologies, and infrastructures using CLIENT project management methodologies.
Participate in Global Enterprise projects providing technical expertise and influencing technical decisions.
Perform SAP and related software installations, upgrades, testing, and configuration supporting enterprise projects.
Regularly review and perform preventative and corrective maintenance through Change Management processes and maintenance schedules to meet minimum unplanned down time.
Provide high level customer service support in daily problem and performance management through in-depth root cause analysis.
Maintain disaster recovery procedures and documentation and participates in scheduled tests.
Plan, communicate, and coordinate between internal customers and infrastructure teams to deliver Basis services per service level agreement, e.g system refreshes, upgrades, etc.
Maintain and update technical documentation as well as cross-train other team members.
Manage customer relationships through understanding and anticipating customer’s immediate and future needs.
Participate in off hour scheduled on-call duties.
Mentor Junior resources in project planning, decision making and technical skill building.
