Founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company founder and Executive Chairman, Peter Rex, ResProp (part of the Rex family of companies) is looking for a Risk Manager. With ~$1B in assets under management and ~40 properties across 3 states, ResProp is revolutionizing the real estate industry with the combination of elite talent, operational excellence and cutting edge technology solutions.
Based out of our HQ in Austin, TX, the Risk Manager will be responsible for ensuring our teams are not eliminating, but optimizing risk. They will be examining and analyzing every type of risk across the companies, including physical and financial, to optimize the risk profile set forth by our executive team. The right candidate will be diligent in their work and thorough in identifying all risks that could be catastrophic to our business. This person likely has a legal background or is savvy at looking through contracts and determining if they need to be elevated to legal counsel.
Lastly, this person likely has some previous insurance experience and can help us optimize our insurance relationships. This person is not owning the financial risk of our investment portfolio. You will work closely with our Executive team in translating and communicating data into actionable advice. You have business savvy, you’re results-driven, and you strive to be part of an elite organization.

In year one you will be:
Overtake & evaluate existing processes surrounding risk management; improve them
Identify most serious threats to the company and provide solutions to avert them
Deep research on future threats facing the company; you will prepare our team for the future
Evaluate existing relationships with vendors / programs / etc to better determine how to further technologize and catalyze our team in the future
Slide in and work with leadership to help realize the best risks for the company
Fly to and evaluate assets for physical risk on a moments notice
Position the team for explosive growth in the Florida and Texas markets from a risk standpoint
The Ideal candidate has:
JD or equivalent background with the ability to evaluate complex contracts and the associated risks
Has spent extensive time at an elite real estate company, preferably with an eye toward technology
Deep background of forward thinking research with evidence of mitigating and optimizing risk
