Looking for talented and highly motivated SRE’s (Site Reliability Engineers) to help us design and build a scalable, high-performance data center infrastructure to handle billions of transactions per day. Developing this infrastructure will present many interesting technical challenges to solve in the areas of distributed computing, high-performance computing, and high availability.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and support high-performance, highly-available data center infrastructure
Build and maintain models for growth and capacity planning
Tune large-scale clusters for optimal performance and efficiency
Server, Network, and Datacenter provisioning for large scale projects
Required Job Qualifications:
Experience with large infrastructures (200 machines) spanning multiple locations
Knowledge of a wide variety of current server hardware and software platforms
Strong Linux system administration background, from bare metal through virtualization
Keen analytical ability of complex data structures and interconnected systems
Passion for open source communities and philosophies
Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
Driven, takes responsibility, and prompt
Experience with programming in Perl or bash
Nice to have:
Experience with programming in C , SQL, Python, Java, Haskell or Erlang
Experience with Grid Technologies such as Hadoop
Experience with managing large SQL or NoSQL database clusters
Experience with implementing nagios, munin, or cacti
Experience using Jira, bugzilla, or Trac
Expierience using svn or git
Strong CentOS or RHEL management including rpm building and kickstart.
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is a strong plus
Experience administrating production “Big Data” Systems based on Hadoop (Apache, Cloudera and/or MapR) including related technologies such as HBase, Hive, NoSQL, etc.
