Job Details:
SUMMARY: The Food Service Customer Planning & Development Director role is aligned to a Sales leader to aid them in meeting overall Sales Channel strategies and objectives. This position is responsible for simplifying the complexity of Foodservice by being and expert for their specified channel and customers -
Providing thought leadership to the MBU’s & Growth/Innovation teams
Generating demand – targeting, annual planning, marketing activation
Driving end-to-end customer engagement with high touch customers and alongside sales, driving strategic customer relationships to grow our business and our customers’ business.
This role is accountable for leading a team of 3-6 people, as well as leading cross-functional stakeholders on behalf of their key customers i.e. Sales, R&D, BU’s, RGM, Customers, Agency Partners, Marketing Services (Culinary, Training).
This director must influence and lead cross-functionally, as well as vertically, demonstrating the 5 C’s and must have the discipline and organizational skills to prioritize work within their assigned customers and manage resources (both direct and indirect) in alignment with business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer & Channel Marketing:
Customer Expert – understands relevant insights (both consumer & operator) to know What products to sell, Why, How and Where to sell w/i each channel
Deep understanding of Customer and Consumer segmentation
Marketing Activation i.e. Channel & Customer specific sales tools, loyalty programs, digital content, customer promotions & presentations
Customer Planning & Development:
Development of Customer Strategies & Execution Plans – annual customer planning
Leadership with sales of strategic customer meetings JGP/QBR/T2Ts
Lead customer portfolio penetration across all BU’s by being liaison b/w Sales & the BU’s
Drive customer initiatives in alignment with BU/Sales goals & objectives, including inputs into the AOP process and capturing R&O’s
Project Management:
Helps prioritize project work based on the 3Cs – consumer, customer, and company
Expert on customer go-to-market processes & guardrails
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a directly related field; MBA a plus
Experience: 12 years of formal and/or business application experience; Foodservice experience a must
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Communication
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, both 1-on-1, as well as in a group setting
Special Skills: Understanding of basic financials; strong analytics and problem-solving skills
Supervisory: Will manage a team of 3-6 people
Travel: 12 or more trips per year
