This position is responsible for performing tasks assigned by supervisor that are associated with the day to day operations of a grain elevator under moderate supervision. Be able to operate facility PLC control systems effectively. Oversee blending of grain while loading railcars/trucks and while unloading trucks to blend off wet grain. Oversee railcar loading and make sure that each step of the railcar loading process (samples, paperwork, seals, loading) is kept in order and is done safely. Should pioneer facility housekeeping and make sure that the facility is held to a high standard. Should be able to operate railcar moving equipment. Should be able to operate the truck scale/inspection room should the need arise. Should have general understanding of facility maintenance and be able to lead or assist on minor maintenance issues. Should begin to show the ability and understanding of how to troubleshoot issues as the arise. Class 2 operator should begin to show understanding of facility inventory/space. In addition to the above responsibilities a class 2 Operator should still be willing and able to perform all Class 1 responsibilities and other responsibilities not listed as they arise under direction of supervisor. A class 2 Operator should be able to fulfill the role of supervisor in the absence of supervisor or Class 3 Operator.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: This position should have 1-2 years or equivalent experience as a Class 1 Operator prior to advancing into a Class 2 Operator role. And should be able to fulfill all the class 1 responsibilities and those listed below before being named Class 2 operator.

Physical Requirements:


Need to be able to work in a Dusty Environment

Be able to work in heat during summer, cold during winter, and rain if needed.

Need to be able to stand for long periods of time between breaks.

Climb ladder

Climb Stairs

Ability to operate trailer doors/tarps

Opening some dump trailers could require reaching over head.

Ability to bend over and lift railcar lids when opening and closing lids.

Ability to bend over and seal railcar hopper doors.

Ability to lift, push & pull up to 75 lbs.

Ability to work at heights up to 200’.


Days/Hours for this position will be Monday - Friday - 8 to 14 hours per day. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Increased hours during harvest seasons (JUNE-JULY, AUGUST-NOVEMBER) which varies upon weather and company need.
