It is not unusual for an attorney to arrive at Hangley Aronchick after starting his or her legal career someplace else. We are proud of our tradition of hiring highly qualified lateral applicants. Whether you find yourself looking for a position at our firm because you are moving into private practice from the public sector, relocating to our area, or are just ready for a change, we have a lot to offer.
Knowing the value of peer approval, we take pride in the fact that major law firms throughout the country regularly engage us when (as happens more and more frequently these days) they are named as defendants in high-risk, high-profile cases. We even represented the Pennsylvania Bar Association (in effect, the entire lawyer population of our state) when its judicial candidate evaluation process was attacked in the courts.
Many of our lawyers have spent time working in the public sector. In addition, a majority of our lawyers clerked on federal district or circuit courts, and one clerked on the United States Supreme Court.
Many of our attorneys are also veterans of larger law firms who got tired of the downsides of many big firms: bureaucracy, lack of meaningful work experience, and lack of respect for life outside of work.
Our lawyers have also served the community. We have on our roster a past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association; current and former law school professors; fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American College of Bankruptcy Lawyers, and American College of Real Estate Lawyers; members of the American Law Institute and American Bankruptcy Institute; and leaders of inns of court and the American Bar Association Sections of Litigation and Environment, Energy and Resources.

Meet Our Team
Support Staff
Hangley Aronchick attracts staff who understand the importance of teamwork, cooperation and respect. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting cases with great teams and be a genuine part of the action. You may be asked to sit on a committee where decisions affecting the firm are decided — everything from where to hang artwork to developing procedures to make the firm more efficient. Paralegals
Our paralegals are assigned to the firm’s various practice areas and play a vital role in supporting our clients’ needs. As a paralegal at Hangley Aronchick, you will be the liaison between the shareholders, associates, support staff, and the client.
You will be challenged to draw on your experience and skills on a daily basis and encouraged to explore new technologies. The leadership of our firm recognizes that expanding our paralegals’ knowledge contributes to the firm’s overall success. We are committed to the professional development of our paralegals and encourage their membership and activity in the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals.
Administration
Hangley Aronchick has a motivated administration department. Our administrators do their best to foster the firm’s friendly, mutually respectful, and professional atmosphere.
From the newest clerk in the accounting department to the firm’s administrator, the department’s primary goal is to provide exceptional service to the attorneys and legal staff while managing the day-to-day activities that make a law firm work.
Legal Secretaries
Our legal secretaries are valued employees who are viewed as individuals and not simply someone who can send the fax, type the letter, or make the corrections. Both the attorneys and the administration rely on the legal secretaries’ special skills to deliver the superior customer service that our clients have come to expect.
