Storage Administrator

Profile

In this role the incumbent will work closely with the infrastructure platform teams (engineering and operations) and business partners to deliver highly available storage technology solutions.
• Leads advanced storage array deployment, configuration and provisioning assignments
• Responds to major incidents, SWAT calls and other conference calls in support of IT business processes
• Collaborates with peers on the server (UNIX & Windows), network and security teams to fulfill complex infrastructure deployments throughout the enterprise
• Responds to customer / business partner inquiries and develops solutions to meet their needs
• Creates installation and trouble-shooting documentation for use by data center operations personnel
• Provide tier-2 incident management support and participate in on-call rotation
• Collaborate with team members and prioritize assignments
• Proactively communicate with Business Technology team and external clients to support applications
• Coordinate knowledge transfer with Business Technology teams
Required
•Working knowledge of Unix (AIX, Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows 2008) systems in a high-availability, multi site environment
•Five or more years experience installing, configuring and supporting Storage Area Network (SAN) switches/directors (Brocade, McData or Cisco). Must have experience performing code upgrades.
•Five to seven years hand-on experience performing LUN assignment and masking as well as SAN switch zoning
•Five or more years experience working with server based logical volume managers (VxVM, LVM, etc.)
•Five or more years experience configuring & supporting enterprise backup and system recovery applications (e.g.: NetBackup, NetWorker, TSM)
•Working knowledge of network switches, routers, firewalls, and network protocols
