Position Purpose
Capital Bank is looking for a Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations to join our IT department. The Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations manages all the Run and Build aspects of the Infrastructure Operations area of the IT Department. The run the bank function will support overall IT infrastructure (Service Desk/Level 1 and Level 2 Production Support) to provide availability, stability of the applications. The Run the bank function would support build out of next-gen platforms internally or externally (SaaS or vendor supported models). This role will also have oversight of service and technology vendors, cloud and on-premises hosted infrastructure, and governance/adherence to IT related policies and procedures in addition to budget management. This leader is involved with Bank's leadership and internal business stakeholders to understand business and customer needs and assess, propose, and implement technical solutions that aligns with the corporate and business strategy.
Position Responsibilities
Oversee and enhance Service Desk capabilities by understanding the Bank's needs.
Establish a desktop engineering sub-function to bring working efficiency in the company.
Establish segregation of duties in the department by enabling Run and Build sub-functions within the IT Infrastructure & Operations.
Establish process and procedures for Database engineering function and take them to the next level of maturity.
Establish a cybersecurity operations function to support the corporate cybersecurity governance function in partnership with Chief Risk Officer. Implements, operates, and remediate all cybersecurity functions and proactively protect the organization from cyber threats.
Establish service levels for the I&O area and review with the CIO on monthly basis.
Leverage third-party support structure to enhance the Bank capability swiftly.
Be the single point of escalation for the overall IT Infrastructure & Operations related activities.
Oversee and operates the function of systems management for all infrastructure and business systems.
Provide expertise in the security and management of Azure Cloud and on-prem environments to ensure proper design and management of these environments.
Support internal and external audit activities. Keep documentation and logs of all regulatory-required systems information.
Monitor performance, uptimes and capacity of all systems both internal and vendor-hosted/managed via creation and upkeep of automated controls and systems where able.
Establish and maintain the Infrastructure Operations portion of the IT operations budget.
Forecast and budget for hardware/software multi-year lifecycle.
Develop competence within the team to support business applications and work in tandem with outsourced applications support teams to resolve issues quickly.
Oversee all 3rd-party IT vendor services, contracts, and support relationships.
Understand Capital Bank's technical infrastructure and ecosystem to provide relevant technical assessments and proposals to support company's strategic goals and business needs.
Design and implement infrastructure solutions in collaboration with Software Development team to develop web and database architecture in Microsoft Azure as well as on-premises.
Outline pros and cons for technical solutions in order to enable effective and informed business decisions, ensuring solution integrates well with existing in-house ecosystem and vendor systems.
Comply with all federal and state rules and regulations that effect this job position and perform the required ongoing training for those regulations as directed by the Chief Risk Officer.
Partner with third-party FinTech and other vendors to bring the knowledge base to enhance our platform capabilities
Supervisory:
Mentor and coach direct reports within the team to help develop them for future roles and provide proper succession.
Manage performance of the team and conduct performance reviews within the processes of the Bank.
Education and Experience Required
10 years of relevant and progressive infrastructure engineering and systems management experience using enterprise-level technologies
7 years of relevant experience of managing/leading technical projects and assessing technical solutions
4 years of relevant experience in leading operations and direct supervision of staff
Strong analytical skills with fundamental understanding of the underlying business or customer need
Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders in order to drive alignment
Ability to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision-making
Ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork, promote and exemplifies a culture of excellent customer service
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Strong Knowledge and experience with the following computer and server hardware and networking technologies:
Network Operating Systems: Windows 2012, 2016, 2019
Scripting languages such as PowerShell, batch, Perl, or Python
Relational Database Systems administration with SQL Server or other relevant enterprise DBMS
Enterprise-appropriate systems administration principles, practices and methods,
Enterprise-grade networking components including firewalls, routers, VPN, switches, Layer-3 IP Networking and design
