Director/Senior Director, Business and Legal Affairs
The candidate will bring exceptional legal and business judgment, as well as creativity and passion for music. Draft, review, negotiate and summarize a wide variety of legal agreements, including exclusive recording agreements, entertainment income agreements, license agreements, soundtrack agreements, joint venture deals, distribution agreements, content creation agreements, digital deals, merchandise agreements, exclusivity waivers, brand deals and other entertainment related agreements. Work closely with label executives and A&Rs in preparing deal proposals. Work with various departments when negotiating deals, including finance. Advise members of senior management with respect to various business and legal matters, including copyright law, contractual rights and obligations, legal claims and clearances, and dispute resolution. Be comfortable working with new and evolving business models in an ever-changing industry.
