Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Litigation Associate in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of employment litigation defense experience and will work collaboratively across various industry sectors, taking on increasing responsibilities within the Employment and Labor practice.

Duties

• Defend complex wage-and-hour class actions, discrimination, and wrongful termination matters.
• Draft motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions.
• Advise clients on employment policies, procedures, and legal risks.
• Support transactional and counseling matters, including employee handbooks and workplace investigations.
• Contribute to client and industry education through webinars and seminars.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of employment litigation defense experience in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
• California Bar membership in good standing.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, solving problems efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California Bar.

Skills

• Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Oral argument experience.
• Experience drafting employment agreements and developing training programs.
