Tasks: This team member is responsible for the general operation, cleaning, and monitoring of the hair hydrolyzer room on a day-to-day basis. In the morning, the operator is responsible for setting up equipment necessary to get the hydrolyzer running and also the 3-phase water system. This may require the employee to work in an awkward positions while performing this function resulting in full body stressors. This team member will also be required to monitor hydrolyzer and the 3-phase wastewater system throughout their shift. Other duties include using a shovel or pitch fork to scoop up piles of hair when it is being combo’ d. This needs to be worked back into the system throughout the day and dumped into a chute approximately 30” above the floor.

Other tasks include lifting of up to 50 pounds, moderate to heavy pushing/pulling and reaching is required for various tasks. The team member must be willing to stand and walk the entire duration of the shift. The temperature can range as low as 40 degrees or up to 120 degrees. Must be willing to train and be authorized for Lock Out/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, use of chemicals, fall protection, and any other annual training as needed. Must be willing to wear and read Hydrogen Sulfide Monitor (H2S) to determine air quality in the Hair Hydrolyzer Room. Must be able to work assigned shifts and weekends. Must be able to communicate effectively with management. Must be able to read and understand manuals, execute and document work completed on scheduling sheet
