We are looking for a highly-skilled Industrial Designer with extensive experience in industrial/consumer products. Applicants must show a history of designs that have gone into production. As a key member of the team, you will be a part of the creative collaboration to bring exciting new human-centered products to the residential and commercial natural ventilation markets. Show us what you're made of, and include a PDF sample of your portfolio in your application.u00A0ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain designs in support of the product plan, with a strong focus on fans, coolers, dehumidification and control platform aesthetics.Create compelling sketches/illustrations/designs and storyboard concepts based on ideation, research and product requirements.Lead concept generation and design for a wide range of residential and commercial product categories.Meet established deadlines for projects, while applying solid project management skills that deliver highly detailed and usable designs that reflect knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly methodologies.Maintain close engagement with engineering partners to consider cost/schedule/performance trade-offs relating to manufacturing, assembly, etc.Analyze current and future trends related to color, material, and finishes and create specifications for production.Define and craft the consumer design of new products by collaborating with external design partners, CMu2019s, ODMu2019s, and internal stakeholders.Explore a wide variety of compelling design options and effectively advance those that are relevant for each market, and target user segment and that align with business needs/technical capabilities.Lead conceptual exploration through competitive assessments and field visits to identify unmet user needs, design trend awareness, and purposive ideation that focuses on solid ergonomics and usability to enhance user-product experience.u00A0Bring clarity through effective communication of functional needs and aesthetic sensibilities in an advanced product development environment, while building relationships with engineering and planning stakeholders.Collaborate on designing, making, and testing new solutions through experiments and prototypes from sketches, renderings, CAD models to functional prototypes and build-ready assets.Contribute to productive brainstorming sessions, concept creation workshops, and trend evaluations.Create critical design touchpoints and consumer experience narratives.Ability to lead, direct, and inspire our engineering and marketing teams with a collaborative and positive style that builds consensus towards the next steps through articulate verbal and influential visual storytelling.RequirementsBacheloru2019s degree in industrial design, additional degree in electro-mechanical engineering is preferred5 years of Consumer Hard-Goods or Commercial Design work experience - Demonstrated ability to build low fidelity prototypes (e.g. hands-on with cardboard, foam core, wood, laser cutting, 3D printing) and understanding of production methods and prototyping processesExceptional creativity with an ability to translate customer and research inputs into relevant, highly desirable, and feasible product solutionsExcellent sketching, visualization, modeling, and presentation skills for 2D and 3D visualizations with an ability to create impactful renderingsStrong conceptualization skills and mechanical aptitude, with an understanding of manufacturing processes and materials for metal, aluminum, composite, and plastics that collaboratively align with engineering teamsExperience with all phases of the design process, including trend research, design strategy, concept development, and manufacturing executionSolid understanding of a wide range of materials and how they relate to manufacturing and costAdvanced 3D SolidWorks surface and solid modeling (or equivalent) capabilities and proficient Adobe CS skills experience a plusExcellent written and oral communication skillsWork with minimal supervision on multiple projects, in a consensus-based team environmentAble to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and business partners at all levels with a u201Croll up the sleevesu201D approach, strong work ethic and integrity, and clear ownership stake in company and customer successWhy live life Big Ass?Youu2019re not just a member of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. team; itu2019s BIGGER than us.
