Bowhead is looking for a Systems Network Engineer to join a fun and exciting team in a fast paced, challenging environment that supports and maintains connectivity within a global IT environment. Duties will include:
Supporting all network devices that interconnect client locations and the internet, including routing, switching and security devices across LAN/WAN/MAN topologies.
Activating new data circuits to remote field sites, which may connect to the infrastructure via MPLS or DMVPN.
Implementing new devices at various locations.
Monitoring network infrastructure.
Utilizing monitoring tools to observe up/down notifications for devices and remote site connectivity.
Configuring and replacing failed devices per guidelines.
Monitoring bandwidth utilization and identify resource utilization issues.
Routing protocols BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
Rotational on-call duty and occasional travel.
Other duties as needed.
Technologies utilized in this role will include: Cisco (Nexus, 7600, 7200, 6500, 3800, 3700, 3750, 3560, ASA, ACS), Foundry (BigIron), Dell, HP, Unix, TCPDump, Wireshark, Syslog, Spectrum, Network Compliance Manager, Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN/WAN/MAN, NetQoS, IOS Version management and IOS upgrades, Remedy ticketing system.
Required Skills Must possess CISSP certification. If not CISSP certified, candidate must possess or obtain Security certification within 3 weeks of hire and CISSP certification within 6 months of hire.
Current knowledge of routing protocols.
Current knowledge of Layer 2 device configuration.
Experience managing LAN/WAN/MAN.
Device compliance management.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the TOP SECRET level.
Required Experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
Candidates must pass a Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening, and must follow all Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program Requirements.
All post-secondary education listed on a Candidate’s application and resume must be verifiable, including but not limited to dates of attendance and degree/diploma awarded. Post-secondary education includes any courses taken through an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree.
