The candidate role at the Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine (D3b) will serve as the primary liaison between the Center and the Office of Collaborative and Corporate Research Contracts (OCCRC) and Office of General Counsel (OGC) at company. This position is responsible for the business process functions for the Center, including ongoing design and implementation of systems, policies, and procedures required for the implementation of sponsored research and technology transfer related agreements. Also will be expected to work independently and be proficient in the terminology and mechanisms of various research collaboration agreements. As such, the position shall be responsible for communicating with OCCRC and OGC, as applicable, to determine what information is required from D3b personnel to facilitate their drafting and/or negotiation of a particular agreement, and obtaining the information from D3b staff to provide to OCCRC or OGC to enable successful completion of the agreement. In addition, the role will assist in the creation of educational opportunities for investigators with respect to research programs and policies, with particular emphasis on research compliance issues. Job Responsibilities: Generating and delivering regular management reports and performance metrics on all contracts and agreements. Creating and implementing outreach efforts such as presentations to Directors, Managers and Study Coordinators, within the different units in the Center. Working closely with the Office of Collaborative and Corporate Research Contracts and Office of General Counsel, ensuring that research and agreements are consistent with Hospital Intellectual Property and Conflict of Interest Policies, as well as NIH regulations and guidelines where appropriate. Ensure the timely transmission of information between D3b and OCCRC/OGC to facilitate the latter’s negotiation and preparation of Contracts and Research Agreement. Supervise other personnel and ensure they perform their duties in accordance with operating procedures and policies. Guide Center staff in best practices around processes for contracts and agreements. Act as Liaison between the Center and Office of Collaborative and Corporate Research Contracts and Office of General Counsel to promote research resources and to create relationships with potential research collaborators, including potential corporate sponsors. An example of the types of agreements that will be encountered include: Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreements; Data Transfer/Data Use/Data Sharing Agreements; Business Associate Agreements; Material Transfer Agreements; Collaborative Research Agreements; Visiting Scholar Agreements; Other agreements in support of research or the protection of intellectual property.
