Dean, School of Law
The candidate will develop the School’s strategic initiatives and participates in long-term planning and policy setting. Will be an inspiration for change while setting out a clear vision for elevating and maintaining the excellence of the School. Will involve in advancing the School’s goal of enhancing admission criteria, student selectivity, and increased bar passage. Will also be charged with fiscal, human resources, and facilities oversight as well as developing and honing external relationships critical for fundraising success. Will be responsible for developing and coordinating the public image of the School. In doing so, will be expected to represent the Law School locally, regionally, and nationally to all external constituencies such as the California Bar Association. Responsibilities: Carry out the instructional programs, and implementing educational and professional objectives; Work with faculty, staff and students in developing quality teaching, scholarly research, and public service program; Interface with the Board of Trustees and the California State Bar; Reviews grading rubrics, tests, and calibration assignments; calibrates and grades exams as needed; Manage budget and finance as well as human resources and facilities planning; Coordination with the School and California State Bar; Maintain and improve the Law Library, Law School technology and website; Planning, implementing, and administering admissions policies and procedures; Coordinating internal and external communications; Managing Alumni relations; Plan and implement annual and capital fund-raising initiatives.Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-functions and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
