Summer Interns Program
The intern will work in one of the following clinical areas: Housing Law Clinic. Intern will engage very actively in client interviewing and counseling, fact investigation, pre-trial discovery (including the taking and defending of depositions), negotiation, and motion practice, as well as trying cases in court. Also have the opportunity to engage in community lawyering and mobilization efforts with long term community partners and to work on legislative and other law reform initiatives/ Pparticipate in a Boston Bar Association Attorney for the Day Program and offer “game day” advice to unrepresented litigants in Court on the day of the litigants hearing or trial. Interns are supervised and mentored by experienced clinical instructors. Conduct interviews with potential clients seeking advice or assistance; counsel and advise clients; engage in investigation and formal discovery; develop case strategies; prepare pleadings for courts or petitions to administrative agencies; and research case specific legal issues. Some students appear before courts on contested motions, preliminary matters or assist in a trial; others will represent clients before administrative agencies.
