Assistant Director of Student Conduct
The candidate will assist in the administration and coordination of firm's centralized student disciplinary system for the approximately 36,000 students enrolled at firm. Will serve as a hearing officer for varying levels of academic and non-academic student disciplinary cases and is responsible for receiving reports and the investigation and adjudication of student conduct code violations. Serves as the primary contact for all drug and alcohol violations, as well as acting as the primary contact for the Iowa State and Ames Police Departments, and the primary contact for Greek chapter violations. Additional responsibilities include outreach and education activities along with conducting training sessions for students, faculty, and staff related to university and student policies. Serve as the primary contact and administrator for Student Conduct website questions, revisions, and projects. Provides support for maintaining a centralized student disciplinary record system; and is responsible for ensuring due process in all student disciplinary processes. Must work closely with faculty, staff, police departments, advocates, attorneys, probation officers, parents and families, and other internal and external departments and agencies, while navigating privacy requirements related to sensitive information (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Title IX, etc.). Should have Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of position. Should preferably have Master’s degree or Juris doctorate degree.
