Campus Security Supervisor
Responsibilities: Lead, supervise, organize and evaluate department personnel, including but not limited to hiring, coaching and developing, promoting, rewarding, assigning and reviewing work, approve transfers, disciplining, suspending, discharging and adjusting grievances. Collective bargaining agreements and MnSCU policies and procedures are implemented and appropriately enforced, and projects are staffed correctly to meet deadlines. Manage a portion of department budget along with sustainability of department. Collect and analyze data to maintain compliance with Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). To include development and facilitate in-service training program(s) and present crime prevention and safety programming for all campus community members. Develop, direct, plan the administration of patrol of campus facilities and grounds for emergency and safety purposes. Serve as campus consultant for interpreting and implementing institution’s emergency and safety policies and procedures. Develop and facilitate department in-service training program(s) and presents various training seminars (i.e. A.L.I.C.E. training(s) to all campus community members as requested. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with external law enforcement agencies to obtain or exchange relevant security and safety related information. Perform other duties assigned, including committees or special work projects and ongoing professional development, to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Assume responsibility for all department operations during the director’s absence.
