Paralegal
The candidate will work as part of a cohesive administrative team to support all needs and activities of the office. Provides support to supervising attorneys for a variety of legal work and participates in preparing, reviewing and redacting documents, with an emphasis in general legal work, particularly open records law and litigation support, including traditional and electronic discovery and legal holds. May also provide support to supervising attorneys in other areas, such as contracts, immigration, legal research, policy review and drafting, and legal compliance issues. Performs general administrative duties, such as answering incoming calls, routing requests for legal advice, scheduling calls and meetings, preparing and sending correspondence and legal documents. Gathers and reviews documents. Uses appropriate technology to prepare documents for production in response to records requests made pursuant to state and federal law or in connection with litigation. Interfaces with internal record keepers and members of the public regarding records requests made pursuant to state and federal law. Assists attorneys in drafting and reviewing correspondence, contracts, policies, bylaws, and other documents. Develops materials to educate and train University community about legal issues. Assists attorneys with legal research and preparation for internal hearings.
