Legal Counsel
Responsibilities: Support the legal contracting and counseling needs of new businesses across different business, commercial and healthcare activities, including manufacturing and distribution of medical products and provision of medical care. Synergize current legal and compliance operations of new businesses and integrate them into legal and compliance operations. Review, update and facilitate integration of clients’ contracts, policy and procedures, including synthesizing corporate compliance policies and procedures along with supporting roll-out of existing policies and procedures. Assist with corporate legal and business training, including development of training materials and presenting on legal and business topics necessary to ensure in-house compliance. Assist business management and General Counsel to create and implement legal process improvements, legal templates and operations, policies and procedures, as recommended. Complete, revise and track business and legal agreements and documents, critical to internal clients, in accordance with Legal department’s guidelines. Conduct investigations, examinations, audits, and monitoring activities, both internally and externally, as needed to support North America Compliance department. Assist with other legal and compliance projects relevant to the current enterprise risk facing our businesses (e.g., HIPAA, data privacy and security, trade compliance, antitrust compliance, intellectual property/innovation development, etc.) needed to improve clients’ business, compliance and legal operations.
