Director, Product Development & Compliance
Duties: Assist, as needed, with the creation, review and/or modification of company forms, rules and exception pages; Weekly and Monthly report to executive management to keep them informed on loss ratios, production, and any concerns identified by the product management team; Provide direction and support to the business units throughout the development and preparation of filing materials; Lead the creation and submission of insurance department filings commensurate with business objectives and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; Coordinate interaction with business unit underwriters, legal and other areas to assure appropriate individuals are involved and kept updated during the course of a filing; Lead and coordinate product filings with outside counsel and insurance departments in a manner that will result in timely approval of state filings; Apply problem-solving techniques to assist business unit personnel when responding to objections and other regulatory compliance issues; Advise of changes to insurance products impacting policy issuance systems as a result of the changes to and/or introduction of new products; Respond to customer inquiries and/or complaints concerning items such as notice requirements, cancellation/non-renewal requirements, filing laws and other product compliance issues; Assist, as needed, with responding to insurance department requested state regulatory survey’s and exams; Review and analyze insurance statues, regulations and bulletins to ensure adherence to filing and regulatory requirements. Stay current on changes and developments that impact insurance design and development; and Develop and maintain personal contacts with state insurance department staff and represent the company at industry meetings.
