Wanted: Rock Star Team Member
We’re looking for our next “Rock Star Team Member” – someone who has a service-oriented frame of mind even before they’ve walked through the door; someone who enjoys learning something new every day, but also can manage the routine work that must be done to keep our work-flow moving forward; and someone who is motivated by their desire to do the highest quality work in order to serve our clients.
Who should apply for this job?
The person we hire will have great time-management and task management skills. This job will require excellence in the following sorts of work:
Organizing information and documents received from clients, loading that information onto our systems quickly and accurately;
Completing judicial council forms and managing calendaring of probate matters, processing probate and trust administrations in systematic and timely fashion;
Working with people who are grieving the loss of a loved one and in need of guidance and compassion as they work through the process of organizing and finalizing that person’s affairs;
Communicating politely, respectfully, and professionally, in a clear and concise manner with team members, clients and other professionals;
Assembling documents and information in ways that make it useful to others;
Some of these tasks will need to be completed simultaneously and precisely. Therefore, the person we hire must have impeccable attention to detail.
The person we hire will be self-reliant. This person will ask questions but will never make excuses.
The person we hire will be very comfortable working on a computer, using the internet, and generally can find a way to get something done. Legal experience with probate and trust matters is required. A paralegal certificate would also be valuable, but is not required.
Most importantly, the person we hire will approach every part of this job with an open mind and have a willingness to learn “our way” of doing things.
Who should NOT apply for this job?
If you frequently pay late fees because you lose your bills or just forget to pay them on time, this job isn’t for you.
If you need lots of direction, this isn’t the job for you.
If you are already set in your ways and you aren’t willing to learn “our way”, this isn’t the job for you.
If you are looking for a temporary gig until the job you really want comes along, this isn’t the job for you.
If you’re a problem adopter and not a problem solver, or if you’re more interested in fixing blame than in fixing problems, this isn’t the job for you.
If you graduated high school or college and still don’t know the difference between “there”, “their” and “they’re” , this isn’t the job for you.
Who are we?
We are a small law firm in a beautiful town in the Sierra Nevada foothills that helps people protect their assets through estate planning, including protecting assets from being exhausted with nursing home costs, and helps families work through the process of administering estates after their loved one has died.
We have a very active practice and rarely have “slow days”. Our firm is well-established and growing. We value our reputation and put a great deal of emphasis on excellent client service and dedicated, loyal teamwork. We offer an open and positive work environment, and we want our team members to reach their own goals and dreams.
How much will this person make?
Wages will be discussed during the hiring process and will be in line with what is paid in our area, but we know that more experience and higher qualifications may be more expensive. We have a retirement plan program that will be made available when you become eligible. We are willing to hire you as an employee of the firm or to work with you as an independent contractor, depending upon what works best for
How to apply:
We will be checking you out when we get your resume, so it is probably a good idea to check us out before you apply. Here are the details you should need to do that:
