u003cpu003eThe Adler University is currently seeking several adjunct faculty members to teach courses in our online Social Justice Practicum. The SJP adjunct for the Online SJP will facilitate workshop modules and grade assignments that co-occur with studentsu0026rsquo; practicum experience.u0026nbsp; The content reviewed in the modules focus on civics, intersectionality, and community organizing; all of which pertain to both the mission of Adler University and the missions of Community Partners who host students for the Social Justice Practicum.u003c/pu003enu003ch4u003eu003cstrongu003eQualificationsu003c/strongu003eu003c/h4u003enu003ch4u003eEducation u0026amp; Experienceu0026nbsp;u003c/h4u003enu003cpu003eApplicants must have the following competencies:u003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003ePreferred terminal degree, (Masters and/or Doctoral Degree) in critical race theory, U.S. History, or allied field.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePreference given to applicants with significant work experience in one or several core areas of community organizing and online teaching.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003ch4u003eu003cstrongu003ePrinciple Responsibilities:u003c/strongu003eu003c/h4u003enu003cpu003eEssential Dutiesu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eFacilitate content covering civics, intersectionality, and community organizingu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMonitor and provide feedback to discussion boardsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMonitor studentsu0026rsquo; completion of online exercisesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eFacilitate live dialogue sessions with studentsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide follow up to SJP Online Coordinator regarding SJP placement issuesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide updates to SJP Online Coordinator for reporting studentsu0026rsquo; progress through modules for the purposes of grading.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eOnline Duties (u003cstrongu003eNote: classes are 8 weeks longu003c/strongu003e)u003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eTimely enrollment and successful completion of the Adler Online Technology u0026amp; Pedagogy Course.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eUpdate course syllabi with dates and instructor information.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMake online course data available to students in a timely way.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePersonally welcome and give feedback to every student in the Introductions Forum during the first week.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eInitiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions in online forums.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCheck e-mail at least twice per day, and answer all student questions within 24 hours.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEscalate any student concerns that cannot be resolved at instructor level to Program Director within 24 hours.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEvaluate and grade studentsu0026rsquo; class work, assignments and papers within 48 hours.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain student attendance records.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eRespond to all communication from Program Director within 24 hours.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eParticipate in mandatory webinars u0026amp; activities scheduled by Adler Online.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cdivu003eu0026nbsp;u003c/divu003enu003cdivu003eu003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eEqual Opportunity Employeru003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003eu003c/divu003enu003cdivu003eu003cemu003eIt is the policy of Adler University that all persons are entitled to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) protection.
