Job Summary

As part of the test automation team for our OSS platform, you will be primarily responsible for advising a team of test-automation engineers crafting, developing and completing automated tests on front-end and back-end applications. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Develop and maintain dashboards for data visualization. Develop tools to assist team work more efficiently. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

What you'll do:


Collaborate with QA team to develop test automation strategy

Improve and maintain existing automation framework

Build new test-automation scripts

Work in an onshore-offshore model

Assign work among team members

Trains junior Automation Engineers on internally developed software applications.

Is responsible for the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.

Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates driven applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

Provides technical leadership through all phases of test-automation.

Assists in supervising and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget.

Works with Quality Assurance team to resolve if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

Displays expertise in knowledge of test-automation methodologies, concepts and skills.

Displays expertise in process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Ability to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital.

What you'll bring:


8 years of shown experience in the Automation Testing field preferably on Telecom OSS products.

Craft and develop new software and web applications.

Deploy and maintain the software on a cloud infrastructure.

Develop and maintain dashboards for data visualization.

Experience in testing GUI/Web Services/APIs is must.

Experience in integrating automation scripts into CI/CD (such as with Jenkins) is must.

Experience of relational databases and SQL is must.

Good knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, JSP, XML, JSON, CSS.

Experience in Robotic process automation is preferable.

Experience in any virtualization tool is helpful.

Familiarity with entire software development process, defect life cycle and test cycles (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress & Scale, Smoke & Sanity) is must.

Previous experience of Metro Ethernet, SDWAN technologies, network circuit design and provisioning concepts is preferred.

Previous experience with a major cable, wireless or other telecommunication service provider is preferred.


Tools:


Required: Core java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, AutoIT, ALM Octane, SOAP UI, SQL Server / MySQL

Preferred: Rally, Python, Kibana, Elastic Search

Detailed and effective written communication skills.


Good to have:


Experience in developing tools framework using JAVA SpringBoot & ReactJS

Knowledge of NoSQL (like ElasticSearch, MongoDB etc)

Experience in Thread, Verbose GC logs & Heap analysis

Knowledge of cloud platform - preferably AWS and CloudFoundry.

Knowledge of Graphite, InfluxDB, Prometheus & Grafana

Knowledge of Splunk
