Associate General Counsel, Product
The candidate will review the products and partnerships related to ads delivery systems to ensure compliance with global privacy laws and regulations, platform policies, industry-self-regulation, consumer protection laws, and other legal requirements. Counsel product, engineering, and other business teams on privacy and other legal issues related to the use of ads targeting, ranking, and other advertiser products. Support the commercial legal team to negotiate agreements with advertisers, measurement partners, and publishers, including with respect to issues involving privacy and data use. Coordinate with legal, regulatory, public policy and communications colleagues on multi-disciplinary issues. Support advertising and platform teams by reviewing and maintaining policies and educating Facebook partners on those policies. A J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. State Bar. Should have 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney either in-house or at a law firm. Experience in one of the following: Privacy legal, product legal, or related area. Experience independently working on multiple different projects at once is preferred. Experience applying U.S. and European privacy, advertising and consumer protection laws and regulations to the Internet- and mobile-based advertising platforms are preferred. Experience counseling engineering teams on product-related, legal issues is preferred. Strong technical background.
