Our client, an excellent established firm in the upstate New York area (Albany, NY) is actively seeking to add a mechanical engineer with approximately four (4) or more years of experience in the design of building systems (HVAC- Plumbing). This role will provide energy efficient, sustainable, planning & technical designs for HVAC & Plumbing systems for commercial, corporate, and educational building projects.

Job Duties:
In tandem with senior leadership:
Develop conceptual designs
Equipment selection
Preparation of HVAC/Plumbing models and calculations
Preparation of design drawings, specifications, and control sequences of operation
During project construction carrying out submittal reviews, making construction site visits and observing system start-ups
Interact closely with company staff and mgmt. and clients
Technical design and quality control on assigned projects
Running calculations and selecting equipment
Assisting in the production of construction documents (drawing and specifications) for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities
Creating and maintaining project schedules
Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines
Maintaining positive client relationships
Requirements:
Approximately Four (4) or more years of Mechanical HVAC, Plumbing design related experience
experience that is relevant to the design and/or construction of building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, etc.)
Experience in preparing engineering calculations and project drawings
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status (PE a plus)
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other specialty-critical software, or the ability to learn those programs quickly.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written organizational and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, architectural engineering, or related discipline
