Duties

• Represent clients at court appearances, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Review discovery, research legal issues, and develop defense strategies.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Prepare cases for trial and collaborate with partners on complex matters.
• Communicate with clients, explain options, and keep them informed.
• Negotiate with prosecutors and manage case deadlines.
• Travel regularly between Charlotte, DeSoto, and Sarasota counties.

Requirements

• Membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Interest in criminal defense and trial attorney development.
• Willingness to take responsibility and learn through experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Prior criminal defense experience is welcome but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.
