This role offers the opportunity to manage significant matters and client relationships independently, particularly in employment and business litigation.

Duties

• Advise clients on disputes, risk management, and pre-litigation strategy.
• Independently manage complex civil litigation matters.
• Develop case strategy from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.
• Draft and argue significant motions.
• Manage all phases of discovery.
• Lead settlement negotiations.
• Prepare cases for trial and serve as lead trial counsel.
• Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Manage an established book of business and its client relationships.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Approximately 7 or more years of civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated trial experience.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Sound professional judgment and ability to manage complex matters independently.
• Strong client-service and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to manage and grow an established book of business.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Interest in contributing to the growth and development of the firm's litigation practice.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership with the State Bar of California.
