A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its growing Cincinnati, OH office. This role offers full, hands-on training on Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) and Industrial Commission of Ohio (IC) procedures, making it an ideal opportunity for recent Juris Doctor graduates or newly admitted Ohio attorneys looking to launch a career in plaintiff-side or defense-side workers' compensation law.

Duties

• Conduct initial client consultations, explain the Ohio workers' compensation process clearly, and maintain regular contact with injured workers.



• Assist in managing workers' compensation files from initial claim filing through hearings and resolution, supported by experienced paralegals.



• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, pre-hearing briefs, and correspondence for Industrial Commission hearings.



• Attend and eventually second-chair or lead District and Staff Hearing Officer (SHO) hearings before the Industrial Commission of Ohio under senior attorney guidance.



• Review medical records, claim files, and employer submissions to build strong factual and legal arguments.

Requirements

• Recent Juris Doctor (JD) graduate or newly admitted Ohio attorney.



• No prior workers' compensation experience is required; the firm provides comprehensive training.



• Motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented professional demeanor.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Ohio State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.



• Excellent client communication and advocacy skills.



• Ability to manage case files and review complex medical records.
