Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented Insurance Recovery Associate with at least four years of relevant experience to join its nationally recognized Insurance Recovery and Counseling practice in Indianapolis. This role offers substantial responsibility, meaningful client contact, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Represent corporate policyholders in complex insurance coverage litigation, arbitrations, and dispute resolution proceedings involving D&O, Cyber, RWI, CGL, Environmental, E&O, and Property/Business Interruption coverages.



• Advise clients on insurance recovery strategy and a broad range of coverage issues, including analyzing and interpreting complex commercial insurance policies, endorsements, exclusions, and coverage provisions.



• Draft coverage analyses, pleadings, motions, briefs, and substantive legal memoranda to support client objectives.



• Assist clients in securing defense and indemnity coverage for third-party liability claims and other significant losses.



• Work closely with clients, insurers, brokers, adjusters, and underlying defense counsel to advance insurance recovery objectives.



• Support all phases of litigation, including factual development, discovery, motion practice, and hearing or trial preparation.

Requirements

• At least four years of relevant experience in insurance recovery, insurance coverage litigation, or policyholder-side coverage counseling.



• Demonstrated experience representing policyholders and counseling clients on insurance recovery matters.



• Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.



• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.



• High degree of professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admission to the applicable state bar and in good standing, or ability to obtain admission promptly.

Skills

• Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus, but not required.
