A law firm seeks an Associate in Debt Finance for its New York office. The role involves managing and negotiating debt finance transactions, providing legal expertise to borrowers, lenders, and financial institutions on various financing matters.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate commitment letters, term sheets, and loan documentation.
• Prepare and review issues lists and summary grids.
• Conduct legal research as needed.
• Manage deal teams and processes from initiation to post-closing.
• Conduct due diligence and manage client communications.
• Assist clients with ongoing deal administration.
• Provide support to senior lawyers on client matters.
• Attend and present at educational seminars.
• Mentor and train junior team members.

Requirements

• At least four years of debt finance experience.
• Experience in sponsored finance, syndicated lending, or leveraged finance preferred.
• Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.
• Project management experience.
• Outstanding communication and drafting skills.
• Strong time management and judgment skills.
• Fluency in English required.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
