Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Labor & Employment practice group in Cleveland, OH. The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 7 years of experience counseling clients on diverse employment issues, reviewing handbooks and contracts, and representing clients in single plaintiff and collective action litigation involving wage and hour, discrimination, and retaliation claims.

Duties

• Counsel clients on a variety of employment law issues and draft or review employment handbooks and contracts.



• Represent clients in single plaintiff and collective action litigation, including wage and hour, discrimination, and retaliation claims.



• Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda and briefs with high attention to detail.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the Ohio Bar or be in the process of being admitted, and maintain good standing.



• Demonstrate a superior academic record, strong work ethic, and excellent writing and research skills.



• Have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in employment law matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Ohio.

Skills

• Strong analytical and legal research capabilities.



• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



• Traditional labor experience, such as NLRB administrative and enforcement proceedings, grievances, and labor arbitration, is a plus but not required.
