A law firm seeks a Discovery and Litigation Counsel in Salt Lake City. This role involves managing a variety of litigation-related matters and supporting risk management efforts. The position offers full-time or part-time schedules with hybrid remote flexibility.

Duties

• Analyze and manage disputes and pre-litigation matters from initial investigation to resolution.
• Draft and respond to demand letters and related correspondence.
• Interact with outside counsel, opposing counsel, and firm personnel.
• Respond to non-party subpoenas and other legal processes.
• Manage and conduct document collection and review for firm-related matters.
• Oversee litigation holds and supervise document preservation.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on litigation and risk management issues.
• Draft, review, and revise firm templates and policies.
• Prepare training materials for attorneys and professional staff.
• Provide general support for risk management duties.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license required in California or another jurisdiction where the firm has an office.
• 3-6 years of litigation experience at a law firm; experience with professional responsibility or risk management is a plus.
• Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing shifting priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to excellent client service.
• Excellent discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar license in California or another jurisdiction where the firm has an office.
