Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney or Of Counsel with 4-7 years of litigation experience to join their Healthcare and Litigation Strategy team in New York. This role offers a chance to handle complex litigation and work closely with experienced trial attorneys.

Duties

• Conduct plaintiff and nonparty depositions in medical malpractice and other civil litigation matters.
• Defend physicians, hospitals, and healthcare providers at depositions or develop these skills through mentorship.
• Draft and argue motions.
• Draft pleadings and other litigation documents.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document demands.
• Attend court conferences, mediations, and oral arguments.
• Communicate effectively with judges, court personnel, clients, and opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with partners to develop litigation strategy and prepare cases for trial.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York.
• 4-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice defense or complex civil litigation.
• Significant experience taking plaintiff depositions.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively with a team.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice in the State of New York.
• Admission to federal courts is desired but not required.

• Strong deposition experience.
