A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate in Oakland, CA, to manage complex commercial disputes. The role involves handling all phases of litigation, from factual investigations and discovery to depositions, motions, and mediation. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials, excellent judgment, and the ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple projects effectively.

Duties

• Conduct factual investigations, manage discovery, and prepare pleadings for complex commercial litigation matters.



• Take depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations and arbitrations in state and federal courts.



• Communicate regularly with clients to articulate legal strategies and provide updates on case progress.



• Collaborate with team members to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.

Requirements

• Three to six years of experience in all phases of complex commercial litigation.



• Active bar license in Delaware or Illinois, or a commitment to obtaining one as soon as possible.



• Experience in both state and federal court is preferred; experience in administrative matters and arbitrations is beneficial.



• Second-chair experience at trial or arbitration is preferred but not required.

Education

• Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar license in Delaware or Illinois.
