Job Overview
A law firm seeks a mid-level associate attorney to join its Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources practice group in Anchorage, AK. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of digital infrastructure and energy transition, focusing on power strategies and regulatory frameworks shaping future energy infrastructure.

Duties

• Negotiate power purchase agreements and energy service agreements for developers, utilities, and corporate buyers.
• Advise on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs, including capacity market mechanisms and interconnection policies.
• Represent clients in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
• Counsel clients on emerging energy policy and renewable energy integration strategies.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in energy law, with regulatory and transactional expertise preferred.
• Familiarity with the Federal Power Act and power transaction structures.
• Ability to draft bespoke energy contracts.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice or eligible to waive into the jurisdiction of the office location.
