A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Personal Injury in Charleston County, SC. The ideal candidate will be an early-career attorney eager to contribute to a dynamic team and take ownership of client cases from the outset.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial evaluation through settlement or litigation.
• Keep clients informed and help them understand their options and case status.
• Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, and evidence, including medical records and police reports.
• Research and apply South Carolina law to case-specific issues.
• Draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and settlement documents.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and defense counsel.
• Support trial preparation and take the lead on depositions, mediations, and hearings as experience grows.
• Manage cases in Filevine and new leads in LeadDocket.
• Help improve processes as the firm scales.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed in South Carolina, or eligible for SC admission.
• 1-5 years of legal experience.
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple cases and deadlines.
• Comfort communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance adjusters.
• Eagerness to learn and take on increasing responsibility in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed in South Carolina, or eligible for SC admission.
