Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Of Counsel attorney for its New Orleans, LA office. This role focuses on employment and labor law, offering the opportunity to manage complex litigation and provide strategic counsel to employers. The ideal candidate will bring significant first-chair experience and a commitment to professional excellence in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges.
• Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues to develop proactive strategies.
• Represent employers in court, arbitration, administrative agencies, and mediations, including class/collective actions.
• Manage and run litigation cases in a first-chair capacity, handling discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour matters.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in employment litigation with significant experience managing and running litigation cases in a first-chair capacity.
• Current Louisiana Bar admission in good standing.
• Supervisory experience over associate and paralegal work, including delegating assignments and providing feedback.
• In-depth understanding of current state and federal agency procedures.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Louisiana.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Class action experience is preferred but not required.
