A law firm seeks a Trademark and Advertising Associate to join its Palo Alto office. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of brand protection and advertising matters for innovative clients, including AI and biotech startups. The position requires handling contested matters, unsettled law, and cross-border enforcement strategies in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Duties

• Clear and prosecute trademarks, while bringing and defending trademark oppositions and federal litigation.



• Enforce intellectual property rights through demand letters, domain disputes, takedowns, and strategic counseling.



• Advise clients on marketing claims, advertising compliance, and defending content against competitor challenges.



• Counsel on emerging legal issues involving AI-generated content, virtual worlds, influencer marketing, and internet liability.



• Shape global brand strategies to build, police, and defend intellectual property assets across international borders.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in trademark, copyright, advertising, and internet liability law.



• Demonstrated interest in boundary-pushing clients, contested matters, and unsettled areas of law.



• Ability to take real ownership of enforcement and dispute resolution work.



• Superior academic credentials and a strong record of professional achievement.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in California or eligibility for admission.
