Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in Santa Monica, CA, to join their dynamic team. This role involves working closely with senior partners on intellectual property and commercial disputes, contributing significantly to case management and strategy.

Duties

• Handle IP disputes involving patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, as well as general commercial litigation.
• Manage discovery phases, including drafting and responding to written discovery and overseeing document review.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal filings.
• Perform and defend depositions, supporting trial preparation.
• Collaborate with various practice groups to provide integrated client support.
• Interface directly with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements

• JD and admission to the California State Bar; Massachusetts Bar admission is a plus.
• 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably from a large law firm or recognized litigation boutique.
• Experience with hearings and case management.
• Hands-on deposition and discovery experience.
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a client-focused environment.

• Juris Doctor (JD)
