Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate to join its subrogation practice in San Diego, CA. This role offers the opportunity to manage cases independently while collaborating with esteemed practitioners in a hybrid work environment.

Duties

• Represent clients in state and federal courts throughout all litigation phases.
• Manage complex commercial, property damage, construction, and product liability matters.
• Investigate and evaluate claims from catastrophic events.
• Collaborate with experts and industry professionals to develop case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and appear at court hearings.
• Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and trials.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of litigation experience.
• Strong litigation, analytical, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently and work collaboratively.
• Experience in commercial litigation, construction litigation, or product liability preferred.
• Insurance experience with insurers or large-loss matters is a plus.
• Licensed and in good standing in California.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California Bar admission.
