Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney with at least two years of civil litigation experience to join its labor and employment practice in Dallas, Texas. The firm represents employers in workplace matters, including discrimination, harassment, and wage disputes. While employment law experience is strongly preferred, candidates with substantial civil litigation backgrounds interested in developing an employment practice will also be considered.

Duties

• Litigate and defend diverse labor and employment claims, including restrictive covenant violations and agency charges.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while providing strategic counsel on employment issues.
• Take and defend depositions, and prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to deliver top-tier legal services and assume day-to-day responsibility for litigation matters.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• At least two years of civil litigation experience, with strong employment law experience preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Active Texas State Bar membership.

Skills

• Experience handling discovery, motions, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court conferences.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
