Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented labor and employment associate with a minimum of two years of broad-based employment counseling experience to join its team in Redwood City, CA. This non-litigation role offers the opportunity to work within a small, dynamic, and growing practice group, collaborating closely with colleagues across the firm to provide exceptional legal services regarding complex employment matters.

Duties

• Provide labor and employment assistance in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.



• Offer expert advice and counseling to employers of all types regarding all aspects of the employment relationship.



• Draft offer letters, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, and non-competes to ensure alignment with client objectives and legal requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of broad-based employment counseling experience.



• Demonstrated direct experience in employment law, with a specific focus on transactional work and client counseling.



• Strong analytical, drafting, and communications skills.



• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, integrated team environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

• Sophisticated understanding of the legal landscape and market practice conditions.



• Ability to tailor compensation arrangements in the context of multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.



• Experience handling complex multi-jurisdictional employment and employee benefits matters.



• Proficiency in optimizing plan design to account for tax and securities law considerations.
