Duties

• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on litigation and client counseling matters involving employment, investigations, student discipline, and special education.


• Perform legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and respond to administrative agency complaints.


• Address day-to-day legal issues for public and private education institutions and assist with client training and professional development.


 

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Missouri attorney license.


• Additional Illinois license is preferred.


• 2-5 years of experience in education law, employment law, or public sector law.


• Interest and/or experience in education law, employment law, and public sector law.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active Missouri attorney license (Required).


• Ability to obtain Illinois license if not already held.

• Exceptional research and writing skills with the ability to develop and present well-reasoned legal arguments.


• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.


• Aptitude for public speaking and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
