A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate with 4-6 years of experience to join its Commercial Litigation and Trusts & Estates Litigation Practice Groups in White Plains, NY. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a motivated attorney to engage in complex legal matters and collaborate with a dedicated team.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motion papers, discovery demands, and correspondence.
• Manage litigation matters from initial pleadings through trial.
• Appear for conferences, oral arguments, and other proceedings.
• Develop case strategies and communicate with clients, adversaries, and court staff.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including client preparation.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.

Requirements

• Motivation and a proactive attitude with ownership of work.
• Strong oral and written advocacy skills, with excellent research and analytical ability.
• Experience in legal research, motion practice, court appearances, and depositions.
• Ability to balance priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
• Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction.
• Interest or experience in commercial litigation and/or trusts & estates litigation.
• Knowledge of New York Supreme Court and Surrogate's Court procedures preferred.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus.
